One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. While the series continues to enjoy massive success, it may come as a surprise to some that certain characters are not as beloved in Japan as they are globally.

Thanks to a poll conducted by the website Suki Kira, which allows fans to vote for their favorite and least favorite characters, we can get a sense of which characters in One Piece may be the most unpopular among fans.

10. Nefertari Vivi:

Vivi is the princess of Alabasta and one of the most loved members of the Straw Hat crew. However, her perceived weak personality and impulsive decision-making detract from her appeal in Japan, ultimately landing her on this list.

9. Kenji Kamiki:

Kenji Kamiki is a super fan of One Piece. He is an everyday office worker and regularly reads One Piece and Shounen Jump Magazine. He has been noticed by the One Piece staff for his comments on various Otaku and One Piece culture topics, which were featured on his manga titled A Big Fan of One Piece. Many fans resent Kamiki due to the attention he garners from the creators, making them envious.

8. Yamato:

The son (daughter) of Kaido, Yamato, is expected to become a member of the Straw Hat Crew. However, his OP level and stubbornness make him unappealing to many Japanese fans. It was strange for most fans when a strong character on the same scale as Sanji and Zoro appeared out of nowhere and wanted to be part of Straw Hats.

7. Tama:

Tama is the first character introduced in the Wano Arc, and she helps Luffy when he is hungry in the Land of Wano. Her annoying habit of crying in every situation has resulted in her losing appeal amongst Japanese fans, despite her usefulness in battles.

6. Rob Lucci:

Rob Lucci was introduced as a member of CP9, a secret government organization. While it’s not surprising that he’s hated due to his role, his prolonged pursuit of Nico Robin has rubbed some Japanese fans the wrong way.

5. Boa Hancock:

Boa Hancock, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and Captain of the Kuja Pirates, is a character that is loved globally. However, her haughty attitude towards men and her love for Luffy has made her less endearing to certain Japanese fans.

4. Carrot:

Carrot is a Mink Tribe member. She is disliked because of her average character and unimpressive personality. She was anticipated by most of the fandom to become a part of Straw Hats, which got her dislike votes from the fans who want Yamato to join Straw Hat crew, instead of Carrot or anyone else.

3. Charlotte Linlin:

Charlotte Linlin is the Big Mom Pirates’ captain and Whole Cake Island, ruler. She is a highly controversial character in the One Piece series, with many fans finding her annoying due to her questionable personality and actions. She is driven by a thirst for power and will go to great lengths to attain it, showing little regard for others. Additionally, Linlin displays favouritism towards certain children, which speaks to her questionable character.

2. Eiichiro Oda:

Eiichiro Oda is the original author of One Piece. Oda’s inclusion on this list may come as a surprise to some, as he is the creator of the highly popular One Piece manga series. However, it is worth noting that the preferences and opinions of Japanese anime fans can be unpredictable.

One potential reason for Oda’s inclusion on this list is his decision to continue the series beyond its previously announced ending point. Despite this, there doesn’t seem to be any legitimate justification for hating the man who has brought so much joy to readers through his work.

1. Uta:

Uta is the adopted daughter of Shanks and the main antagonist of One Piece Film Red. Despite having limited screen time in One Piece, Uta has managed to garner a significant amount of dislike from fans, even earning the top spot on this list.

There are two primary reasons for this. Firstly, her portrayal in One Piece: Red film was met with disappointment by many viewers. Secondly, the choice to have controversial Japanese singer Ado perform her song in the film was met with criticism, leading Japanese fans to rank Uta as the most disliked character in the series.
