I’ve seen a few theories regarding Caribou following his unique ability coming in clutch twice now for this arc for Luffy. Whether it’s him becoming the next Straw Hat (lol) or him smuggling people or even take Poneglyphs out of Wano for different interested parties. My take is a little bit different, here is the breakdown of my theory:
Last time we saw Caribou, he was unloading large quantities of meat from his vast “pockets” that he has access to because of his devil fruit down on the coast of mainland Wano with Luffy, Shinobu, Momo, and the Heart Pirates.
Also, last time we saw the Heart Pirates was on Onigashima for unexplained reasons. How did they get up there? Would they just leave Shinobu and Caribou behind?
One of the current dangers on Onigashima right now is the explosives resting in the basement of the palace. Many theories have been explored, but I don’t think I’ve read any solution that has convinced me that the Flower Capital is getting out of this unscathed.
I believe Caribou is going to come in clutch and suck all the explosives and weapons into his body, whether that means Yamato scares him into doing so, or he’s already done it for his own reasons and Yamato gets to the basement to find them, they’re all gone.
Further, I could very easily see this path for Caribou is also leading to the weapons either being used to take out a large chunk of the unmarked ships currently en-route to Wano, or blowing up a part of Wano effectively “opening the border” in a very literal sense.
I’m not sure if someone has already brought this theory up, but I was just excitedly talking about this with my partner and had to share. I’m excited to hear what you think!
