The Connection Between Joy Boy and Sun God Nika

Nika is a word of Greek origin and it means “Victory”. “Victory” translated to the Javanese language is “Jaya”. Javanese had the ruler by the name of “Jayabaya”, or written in the ancient language, it was written “Joyoboyo”.

Keep in mind that there is a lot of symbolism in One Piece about the dawn and the sun: Dawn island (Luffy’s island), Romance dawn (1st chapter), Thousand Sunny, all the symbols all the way from Alabasta, Skypiea, Fishman island, Sun Pirates, Wano, bringing the dawn to the world.

Joyoboyo was reputed to have been an incarnation of the Hindu deity Vishnu. Whenever the world is threatened with evil, chaos, and destructive forces, Vishnu descends in the form of an avatar (incarnation) to restore the cosmic order. Dashavatara are the ten primary avatars (incarnations) of Vishnu. This is an example of inherited will, that Joyboy’s will has been passed through each century and generation to bring peace and order, but ultimately failed every time, until now, until Luffy.

King Jayabaya epitomized the archetypal Ratu Adil (just king/ruler): the just king reborn in the dark age of suffering “Jaman Edan” (Madness Era) to restore the Jaman Raharja: social justice, order, and harmony in the world. The prophecy predicts that in a time of a great peril, the Ratu Adil will come from an unassuming background; either he or she will come from a modest family, poor, and at first unknown.

It is believed that Ratu Adil has exceptional qualities, an eight characteristics symbolized by sun, moon, stars, earth, ocean, wind, fire and water. The prophecy also talks about the decline of the nobility as the established rulers. With every island Luffy visits, there is a certain “madness” that Luffy corrects and brings justice and order on those islands. Luffy will be the one to bring justice to the world, he will be the one to stripe down the Celestial dragons from their seats.

In the Vedic texts, the deity or god referred to as Vishnu is Surya (Sun god).

Nika=Joyoboyo(Joyboy)=Vishnu=Sun God.

Now if the theory is correct, Nika could’ve been Joyboy, the Sun God, but whether he was the first Joyboy or the first one who inherited the will of Joyboy, but I’d prefer if the name of the first Joyboy remains a mystery, and that Nika is someone as Luffy, someone who has inherited the will.
