One Piece Episode 957 is out, and it’s a crazy episode. After the end to Wano Act 2, Oda took us back to the Reverie. So much hype and chaos happened in this episode, but it is still so ambiguous.
The episode is titled “Big News! An Incident That Will Affect the Seven Warlords!”, and the most important news is about Sabo. Many people speculated that Sabo died and Blackbeard will set sail in order to steal the Mera Mera no Mi.
But I don’t think so. Let’s remember that Blackbeard has had multiple chances to steal the Mera Mera no Mi from Ace, but he didn’t. He didn’t seem too bummed out at not being able to acquire the fruit in Dressrosa.
Other important information is that Blackbeard will be setting sail. He was trying to get something instead of letting it fall into the hand of the Marines. I personally think it’s possible that he is going after an Ancient Weapon. It all kinda lines up if you consider the sequences of events.
Gorosei asked IM who’s light should be extinguished, IM decided Vivi, because IM knows the Ancient Weapon is somewhere in Alabasta. I think Cobra died (possibly in an effort to save Vivi) but Vivi’s fate is yet unknown. The World Government blamed the murder of Cobra on the Revolutionary Army, or more accurately, Sabo who conveniently attacked at the same time.
With the missing of Vivi and the death of Cobra, the World Government will have to send a force to Alabasta to “keep the peace”, which is just a front for searching for the Ancient Weapon. Blackbeard knows what the World Government is planning, so he is going to Alabasta to take the Ancient Weapon for himself.
Also, as I mentioned in the previous post, if Sabo died, Oda wouldn’t offscreen such an important death and not show anyone’s reactions. Thus, I believe Sabo is 100% NOT dead.
