We all know that Doflamingo was ordered to kill Moria in the Marineford arc. The reason for this is weird. Why they want to kill him? He is too weak? No, Moria is as strong as Crocodile, Crocodile had committed far worse crimes, and the World Government just revoked his title and threw him in Impel Down.

What has Moria done that warrants the World Government wanting to kill him? Someone higher than Sengoku means either the Gorosei or Imu himself. Why do they want him dead?

I think it’s because of his devil fruit. His devil fruit allows him to remove people’s shadows and place it in others, letting them gain their power and skill, and a bit of their personality as well. Victoria Cindry took on a new personality when Hogback made her a zombie using a random person’s shadow. Zoro and Sanji zombies as well. Oars as well. I’ll come back to this in a bit. Stick with me here.

The Ope Ope no Mi

Let me go down this rabbit hole. When Doflamingo talks about the Ope-Ope fruit, he says that he could have The National Treasure of Mariejois if he had that fruit. He specifically mentions the Eternal Youth surgery, and THE PERSONALITY TRANSPLANT ABILITY.

This is also really interesting. Why do you need the Personality Transplant ability to use the National Treasure of Mariejois? Keep this in mind, I will come back to this.

The Soru Soru no Mi

Big Mom’s devil fruit, allows her to put souls into inanimate objects, or take the lifespan of people who fear her. But an important distinction is that it does not allow Big Mom to put souls in dead people. This seems like a weird thing to add. You can put souls into inanimate objects but not corpses.

What does this all imply?

In my opinion, it implies that the National Treasure of Mariejois has something to do with dead bodies. Hear me out.

What if the World Government has in its possession, the dead body of a powerful individual from the past, possibly JoyBoy? I don’t know why they would have it, but what if?

Let me ask you this. What do you think would happen, if Law attempted to do the personality transplant, on Doflamingo, and a corpse? I think Doflamingo’s body would become a corpse, while Doflamingo’s soul would take over the other body. But he couldn’t obtain the fruit.

The World Government ordered Doflamingo to kill Moria because he had the ability to do something similar. Moria could cut off Doflamingo’s shadow and place it in one of the dead bodies.

Think… Doflamingo obtained the Mera Mera no Mi after Marineford. How? The most probable explanation was that he bought it off the black market. But maybe he was always carrying a fruit during Marineford, hoping Moria’s devil fruit will reincarnate in that. But since he failed to kill Moria, the fruit turned into the Mera Mera no Mi instead.

The World Government isn’t concerned with the Soul-Soul fruit, because it can’t put souls into dead bodies. It isn’t too far-fetched to think that the World Government may be in possession of dead bodies.

This room appears to be cold and icy. Like a cryogenic chamber used to store dead bodies. There seem to be 7 maybe 8 altars (for 8 centuries since the void century?). And there is a light coming from the middle one. It looks like a coffin to me, under the Straw Hat. Maybe this is where JoyBoy rests.

If this is true, then what if its Blackbeard who kills Moria? What is that is his 3rd devil fruit? They have already made contact. Not too far-fetched.
