The release of last chapter showed us Wano arc is not over yet finished and probably and that the end may be tragic. We are all familiar with the theory of Wano may have been based on Kabuki theater divided into acts. According to the structure of theater is divided in 5th acts:
1- Introducing of characters/place that started at chapter 909 and end in chapter 924 ending with Kid and Luffy defeated.
2- Accelerating the pace of history (end in chapter 955) end alliance pirate prep before the great battle.
Now we already was in act 3 even after 98 chapters Oda didn’t show the end, and accorrding to the tradition of Kabuki theater, ends with a terrible tragedy, but what could this be? The name of this is: Blackbeard.
His last appearance was in Chapter 956 after the newspaper news. He said he goes after something the Marine wants before they get it.
What could he have seen in the paper besides the Sabo news? Well he may have seen Big Mom and Kaidou’s alliance. That is important as he may have seen the two Yonkous fall to Supernovas. Now let’s look at what the Marine/government wants and why he will go to Wano (or will arrive in the next chapters).
– Pluton
Many theorized that Blackbeard would go to Alabasta to get Pluton after the Nefertari incident, but with the last chapter 1053 we find out that Pluton is hiding somewhere in Wano.
– Nico Robin
She is the only one who can read and most importantly: understand the history of the Poneglyph. We saw in chapter 1029 that the World government is behind her again.
– Poneglyph
We know that Blackbeard is not the type to go after danger (like Luffy for example), he prefers to take advantage of situations. The current situation in Wano is perfect for him because in addition to the alliance being weakened after the fight he can get 3 Road Poneglyphs (Luffy’s two +hidden in Wano). Getting even closer to the title of King of Pirates.
– Luffy and his devil fruit
Another famous theory is that Blackbeard will consume three fruits (his jolyroger, foreign body etc). He already has the “strongest Logia” (Yami Yami no Mi) and the strongest Paramecia (Gura Gura no Mi).
Before Kaidou’s supposed death I hoped he could get his fruit, but I now believe that Nika’s fruit is the strongest Zoan. Obviously he won’t be able to steal Luffy’s fruit, but the country is full from strong Zoan users like Marco the Phoenix. Plus he might manage to steal some fruit for his crew.
Therefore, the great tragedy would be the arrival of Aramaki and Blackbeard’s crew, making Luffy and his crew need to flee. Sure You might be wondering: “how will their crew get there with the isolated territory?”, “how will the arc end in a tragedy if Lady Toki made the prophecy of the dawn that has finally come?”
Let’s go for it. First, how is Blackbeard going to get there? If you remember Blackbeard has Sanjuan Wolf who is 180m and could easily put them in Wano country.
Second: The Toki’s prophecy
This could be a point against this theory, but I tell you: the country of Wano has not yet been opened. If you remember Oden on his trip he wrote in his diary that “The borders of the country of Wano need to be opened for the arrival of Joyboy”, that is, someone from inside the country needs to open the country for him to enter. What we were shown was that Luffy entered with the country closed and helped to open from the inside out, not matching the “prophecy”.
Furthermore, how will this opening of the country be? for he is on a mountain as a natural barrier far above sea level.
The answer is Zunesha went to Wano with a purpose not just to say that Joy boy has returned and leave. Momonosuke said in chapter 1050 that still wouldn’t open the country.
This would explain the importance of Momonosuke described in the diary as he would be the “ancestral weapon” joining with the theory of Cavalry Driver and Chariot him as Driver of Zunesha, the cavalry, and the carriage the ship hidden in Wano. (this would be fitting as Shirahoshi is also a princess who controls powerful animals)
This would also explain the “punishment” of the elephant who would be condemned to carry Zou on his back until dawn in the country where he would “sacrifice” to open the country and join again Zou with Wano that would be part of the old kingdom.
In short: the dawn hasn’t happened yet, on the contrary, the “darkness” will come with Blackbeard. As Aramaki told the world “out there” is chaos, probably Oda will focus on how the world is going in the next chapters and then Blackbeard reach.
Even with all the development of the last chapter, the true dawn will only occur when Joy Boy defeats Imu sama and brings the light for all the world fulfilling both the Wano prophecy and the destruction of the island of the Merfolk and the promise to take them to surface.
Luffy will leave the Wano country and when he returns, after the dawn of the world/turn it upside down, he will return to the open country this time. The question now: “so you’re telling me that Luffy after defeating Kaidou fought Blackbeard?” and the answer is:… no. I’ll explain.
Recalling the Kabuki Theater, the third act ends with the tragedy: Blackbeard’s arrival and the Straw Hats’ escape from the country. And the fourth act is marked by a great battle and it will not be between Luffy Vs Blackbeard. It will be between Shanks and Blackbeard.
Shanks’ last appearance was in chapter 907 where he talks to the Gorosei with a “certain pirate”. Would this pirate be the Buggy and he went to warn the Gorosei that he is the son of Rocks and along with his influence he became a Yonko? No, sorry I got carried away it’s just still hard to believe in the Buggy as a new Yonko. We have two possibility: Luffy or Black Beard.
Possibly it was Luffy, because soon after that the Gorosei started to know more about Luffy’s fruit being “Nika”, to pursue him hard and try to hide his origin (which would explain why they didn’t go after him before).
But he could also have gone to warn about Blackbeard. As we know, Shanks is a diplomat who seems to try to keep the “balance of the world”, seen in Marineford with him stopping the war, warning Whitebeard not to go after Teach, stop the Kaidou etc. There is also a theory that each crew member of Roger is at strategic points in the world to guide the next King of the Pirates: Crocus on Reverse Mountain, Rayleigh on Sabaody and Shanks may be trying to keep the world in balance until Luffy be King of the pirates, but why?
As we well know Roger said something to Shanks that made him burst into tears. Maybe he said that he couldn’t become the next King as he was yet to be born. Roger then would have asked his crew and, mainly Shanks, to guide the way to the next King because that would decide the future of the world (with the arrival of Joyboy).
In this with the Shanks, apparently, knowing Blackbeard’s plans, he would try to stop him in Wano, so he wouldn’t get stronger. It’s premeditated since Marineford where Teach said it wasn’t time to face him yet.
Shanks would then have the confrontation with Teach and the meeting with Luffy asking him to go to Elbaf, his territory and where the last Road Poneglyph is. Even though the alliance is extremely strong, it’s still not time for Luffy to face Blackbeard.
I believe that there is a great chance of this clash happening, because in the new book:”Road to Laugh Tale” that will be released during this hiatus shows precisely these two characters in a “confrontation” frame. This is just a complement to the theory, but if you take the two volumes of Marineford: 57 and 58 you will see something interesting.
The cover of volume 57 shows the Whitebeard Pirates and 58 shows the navy. The cover of the “first” volume of the war shows the side that loses first and then the winners of the war.
If you take the Onigashima war covers: 99,100,101 shows first the side of the supposed losers with Big Mom, the side of the alliance, but then it shows the side of the enemies again.
This would be representing the 3 acts of the arc so far:
Act 1: Enemies victory with Luffy and Kid defeated (chapter 924).
Act 2: Alliance victory with the defeat of Big Mom and Kaidou (act 2 ends at chapter 955 before the start of the battle, but it would represent the end of the fight).
Act 3: Arrival of Blackbeard and Ryokugyu with a tragedia and victory of enemies again.
This will be the end of Wano.
