Oda is doing an amazing job at keeping us preoccupied with the current battle against the Beast Pirates and Big Mom alliance. But I think he has been planting the seeds for Blackbeard to make an appearance. I’m pretty sure Blackbeard will soon appear at Wano to steal Marco’s devil fruit. I have a few reasons to think that.

First is the fact that both fruits Blackbeard has plundered have been from former Whitebeard Pirates. The Yami Yami no Mi from Thatch, and the Gura Gura no Mi from Whitebeard. Each are respectively considered one of the strongest in each respective class, Logia and Paramecia.

The theory is that Blackbeard has a synergy with the number three and thus its believed that he can still plunder one more fruit. This would leave Zoan as the last type of fruit for him to need to complete his set. Out of the Zoans mentioned in the series, Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu (Kaido’s) and the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Pheonix(Marco’s) have been regarded as being the most rare and extremely powerful.

Currently, both fruits are at the same location that Blackbeard in Chapter 956 stated to be heading towards before the World Government gets what he wants. This means before Wano’s conclusion, Blackbeard will be appearing to gain something.

As much as it’d be assumed to be the Poneglyphs or Robin, but I think it was more related to a devil fruit seeing as his focus lately has been collecting powerful abilities. Between the two Zoans mentioned earlier, I think Blackbeard would rather want the Tori Tori no Mi than Kaido’s. Because he would have to do the prerequisite Kaido did to become a dragon, whereas with Marco’s fruit it’s ready to go.

Also, Marco’s fruit offers regeneration and pain mitigation which would offset Yami Yami no mi’s weakness of having extra pain added to the user. The last big piece is that Marco is a former Whitebeard pirates commander. This would make all of Blackbeard’s fruits are from former Whitebeard Pirates. Of course, this is just a theory, and I don’t want this to happen. What do you guys think?
