Eustass “Captain” Kid is a notorious pirate from South Blue and the captain of the Kid Pirates. He is one of twelve pirates who are referred to as the “Worst Generation”. Kid has the same dream as Luffy: to find One Piece and become the new Pirate King. Because of this, and Luffy’s recklessness, he seems to have a great deal of respect for Luffy.

Kid and Luffy have alot in common: Only Supernovas with 300+ million bounty. Only Supernovas with another Supernova as first mate. Only Supernovas that were confirmed to possess Conqueror’s Haki early on. Both toppled an Emperor (Kid got help, I know).

Luffy has a famous grandfather, the hero of the navy. Will Kid have an equally famous grandpa? Not many people can compare to Garp. The greatest marine. Perhaps Kid’s grandfather is the greatest scientist. Just like Garp he would also have no time to care for his grandchild.

Isn’t this totally arbitrary? Why Vegapunk of all the people? The name Kid is a punk, couldn’t Vegapunk be related to him? He is quite old, so he is not his father. Vegapunk is Kid’s Grandfather?

Wait, isn’t Kid a hothead? Why would Vegapunk have such a stupid grandchild? That is how he comes off but if you look at the picture that Oda made of him when he was a child you might change your mind. Kid was carrying a robot and a screwdriver. So he might understand something about mechanics, even robotics. Even before he got his devil fruit, he might have known something about metal. He isn’t as stupid as people make him out to be.

Also, everything from Kid has “Punk”. From his skill to his ship. Kid Pirates’ ship is Victoria Punk, it’s an orange ship with a skeleton-themed design reminiscent of heavy metal band stages. Even his techniques all has “Punk”, which has the same kanji with Vega Punk.

In Chapter 1056 we could see Kid talking about the man marked by flames and I honestly think that it has to be a character that we have never seen before, and connecting the theory of Vegapunk being Kid’s Grandfather I can actually see that might be the case.
